Chopstick Rests

Chopsticks have been used for eating delicious food for over 3,000 years. The chopstick is also reputed to have been used as cooking utensils for almost 5,000 years. Nearly a quarter of the world’s population still use chopsticks daily.

Back in the early 1980s David Hui introduced chopsticks and China Sichuan branded chopstick rests to the China Sichuan restaurant in Stillorgan. The restaurant and the exotic menu prepared by chefs from Sichuan Provence was quite a novelty back in the day.

The ceramic chopstick rests were an elegant addition to the dining tables for our guests. Using chopsticks can be difficult for many. Having a chopstick rest to lift the chopsticks off the table surface is helpful too.

Today, in China Sichuan, we are happy to facilitate our guests with chopsticks and bowls for any meal. While most of our customers are more versed in world cuisine today, we still like to surprise you with a mix of tradition and innovation, whether you choose chopsticks or not.
