Often forgotten and completely understated, a bowl of steamed rice can be delicious simplicity…

Steamed or boiled rice is traditionally a staple food in China and other countries of Asia, although it is often used as the main ingredient of many dishes. In China is most commonly served in individual bowls, with each diner receiving one. Food from communal dishes is placed upon the rice, and is then eaten. Also in China, leftover steamed rice is used to make porridge eaten the following morning.

Just dry rice, salt and water in a food steamer or simmering on a cover pot, let the rice slowly absorb the water and grow in size to become the perfect complement to the most elaborate and complex dish.
