Chinese wishing trees, money trees, and hong bao trees are a big part of Chinese New Year festivities and 2016’s year of the Monkey is just around the corner.

Every year, billions of people around the world gather to toss their red ribbons, tied to an orange up into the wishing tree with hope that it will stick and their wish will come true for good fortune in the coming year.

The Chinese New Year coincides with the  Spring Festival or Lunar New Year and has a rich history behind it. It is celebrated in February each year, when China goes on holiday, unlike the rest of the world, for five days. In 2016 millions of Chinese people will celebrate the Year of the Monkey, and we will to at China Sichuan restaurant.

We look forward to see many of you during our celebrations.
